Ready to trade the classroom for fresh air, sunshine, and hands on learning? A Layman Family Farm field trip is packed with classic farm fun and unforgettable farm experiences for schools in the Roanoke Valley, Salem, Bedford, Lynchburg, and throughout Southwest Virginia and the Blue Ridge region. It’s the perfect mix of outdoor adventure, agriculture education, and farm fun that makes Layman Family Farm field trips a favorite for schools across the Roanoke Valley and Southwest Virginia every year.

SPRING Field Trips

Students will enjoy a wagon ride, the popular cow train, and visit friendly farm animals like cows, goats, chickens, and bunnies. Kids can jump and play on the giant jump pad and slide on the tunnel slide.

Spring Field Trip details 

When:  Wednesdays through Fridays April 15th through May 1st.
 

Time:  Arrive at 9am and will depart at 1:00

 

Pricing: $10 per student for our plant experience or $12 per student for our gemstone experience , one free teacher per 10 students/per class.  Students will pay through the teacher. Parents and siblings are $10 or $12 online. You must have at least 15 students. All parent and sibling tickets must be purchased on line.  We prefer online to reduce wait time.  They can purchase at the gate if needed.

FALL Field Trips

 Students will enjoy a hayride to the Layman Family Farm pumpkin patch, explore the corn maze while reading Spookley the Square Pumpkin and its anti bullying message, ride the popular cow train, and visit friendly farm animals like cows, goats, chickens, and bunnies. Kids can jump and play on the giant jump pad, spin around on the Layman Farm carousel, and top it all off by picking out their very own pie pumpkin to take home. 

Fall Field Trip details 

When:  Monday through Fridays September 21st through October 30th.
 

Time:  Arrive at 9am and will depart at 1:00

 

Pricing: $10.00 per student, one free teacher per 10 students/per class.  Students will pay through the teacher. Parents and siblings are $10.00 online. You must have at least 15 students.
