faq & farm policies

Do you have food on the farm?

Yes! We have delicious options for food, desserts, and even specialty sodas! Check out our food page for more info!

Can I leave and come back the same day?

Yes, be sure to keep your wristband on and you are welcome to leave and come back the same day.

​

Do you allow outside pets?

Yes, well behaved and friendly furry friends are welcome! Please be mindful of other guests by keeping your pet on a leash at all times. Guests are required to pick up after their pets. Pets are now allowed on the hayrides.

Do you take credit/debit?

Yes, we accept all CC and debit cards.​

​

What ages need a ticket?

All ages, 2 and under are free. All ages, 3 and up need an admission ticket to enter the farm. There is something for all ages to do! ​

​

What happens if it rains?

We will post any planned closing on our website and social media. If we have to close during your visit and you've had less than 3 hours to enjoy the farm, we will give you a rainy day pass to return another day during the season you originally purchased the ticket for. ​​

​

What is included in a General Admission ticket? 

General Admission gets you access to most everything on the farm! Check out our full list to see what is included and what is extra.

What are your dates & hours?

See our calendar for season dates and hours. Please note: tulip dates are subject to change, as tulips are very sensitive to weather. Always check our website prior to visiting for more definite tulip dates.​

Field Trip Policies

Parent field trip information

​We can't wait to welcome you and your child to Layman Family Farm!

To insure that you have the best day possible, we want to give you as much information as possible, so you won't have to worry about surprises on pricing or what is offered on the day of your trip.  

 

Do you allow siblings on the day of the field trip?  

We follow the rules of the school.  If they've asked for students only, we have only reserved those spots. However, if the school is okay with you bringing siblings we are happy to accommodate. an additional ticket will need to be purchased for any siblings.

Do parent's pay the school or farm?  

You will purchase your tickets on-site and you will enter the farm and wait for your child's arrival.  We ask that you not wait in the parking lot as this makes it difficult for the teachers and busses.  We will have a designated meeting location for your school.

Do you allow outside food?  

Yes!  Students bring sack lunches, and we have a limited number of concessions open for parents.  We have had the occasional parent upset when an item is unavailable, if you have specific dietary needs to preferences on field trip days, we suggest you bring it with you.  Again, we do not offer every food item that is offered on the weekend.

Do parents get a pumpkin?  

Pumpkins can be a super big deal!  We know you want a pumpkin after all, you are at a pumpkin patch.  With that said, we do not offer them for free.  They aren't free to us and take a ton of work to grow.  We do gift each student a small field trip size pumpkin.  If you would like a pumpkin included in your admission, let us know and we can offer you a pumpkin ticket as an additional purchase.  To keep prices affordable, we just don't include this for everyone.

Why do you not offer all attractions on field trips? 

We discount our prices to reflect activities offered.  Some activities aren't offered for safety reasons and some, we just don't feel like it's a good idea due to some groups having limited chaperones.   Again, this is reflected in the price of admission.  We invite you to return on the weekend and enjoy all we have to offer.  IF you feel this is something you'd like to do, purchase a discounted weekend pass before you leave.  These may be purchased only for those attending the day of the trip.

What are the hours of our field trip?  

Field trips are held 9-1.  We ask that you plan your day around these times as our staff may have other jobs and need to leave on time.  

​

What if its Friday, can we stay? 

If you would like to stay for our public opening, just head to admissions and upgrade your ticket.  You will then be able to participate in activities not offered during field trip times.

Do you allow pets? 

I'm sorry, for the safety of all children and our animals, we do not allow outside pets. 

​

My child got sick, can I use my field trip ticket for public hours? 

We can't allow field trip tickets to be used on public days but we are happy to upgrade those for you.

​

Do parents need to purchase a ticket if we are only watching? 

We charge general admission so everyone that enters must pay.  While you may not participate in all attractions, we do hope that you enjoy our facilities and the memories you make.... the memories are priceless.

​

Do you have a list of food items available? 

During field trips due to limited staff, we only offer the Pizza Patch and we also have snack foods for sale in the country store.
